There are over 100 different ways to adjust the spine. Most doctors of chiropractic focus on and choose to use 8 to 12 different adjusting techniques in their practice. Dr. Rulli primarily uses “diversified technique.” The objective of this technique is to restore proper movement and alignment of the spine and joint dysfunction by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement. Hypomobility occurs as a result of a tissue injury, either traumatic – like improper lifting of a heavy object- or by repetitive stress – like sitting with poor posture for an extended period of time.
In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function. Chiropractic adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.
